INTERNATIONAL VISITOR LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) is the U.S. Department of State’s premier professional exchange program.
It connects emerging and established leaders from around the world with their American counterparts, fostering a critical exchange of ideas on government, business, and education during these short-term visits.
Through this program, local community members gain opportunities to form lasting international relationships.
We are always looking for local dinner hosts, professionals, and educators to volunteer, meet these international groups, and showcase Akron’s hospitality, innovation, and leadership spirit.
The IVLP is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government, and supported in its implementation by Global Ties Akron.

From welcoming visitors into their homes to professional meetings, there is an exchange of ideas on government, business, and education that provides local community members with unique opportunities to learn, grow, and form lasting international relationships through these short-term visits.

OPEN WORLD LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
Through the Open World Leadership Program, sponsored by the
Congressional Office for International Leadership,
Global Ties Akron welcomes delegations of Eurasian leaders to explore the core of American democracy, civil society, and community life.
Participants stay in local homes, experience life in Akron, and form professional and personal relationships with U.S. leaders in their fields.
These exchanges build long-term partnerships that extend far beyond the program’s duration.
