Through our community-based international engagement programs, Global Ties Akron has spent the last several weeks demonstrating exactly what makes our city a world-class hub for business, education, and civic leadership.
When we welcome international professionals, the benefits flow directly back into our neighborhoods, expanding global awareness in Akron Public Schools, showcasing our academic excellence at the University of Akron, and creating new global venture opportunities for our businesses.
National grants only cover a portion of our operating costs, so we rely on local support to fund hosting, transportation, and coordination. Our small staff (Adriane, Libby, and me), our board, and our volunteer host families keep this work moving.
